Captain Charlie Summers has a United States Coast Guard Captain's and Master's License with a towing endorsement. He also has a New York State Captain's License and a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit (RROP) and Marine Radio Operator Permit (MROP).

Captain Summers has over 20 years of boating experience on vessels ranging in size up to 45 feet on Lake George, Saratoga Lake, the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers and the Erie and Champlain Canals.

Certified New York State 8-Hour Safety Course instructor.
